B.E.T. Hip Hop Ciphers (Video)

blame it on Shake October 20, 2007

We brought you the audio of the BET Hip Hop Awards cipher and now we’re droppin the videos for you.

Cipher 1: Wyclef, Twista, Lil Mama & Dizzee Rascal

Cipher 2: Phonte (of Little Brother, Stat Quo & Kardinal Offishall)

Cipher 3: Ras Kass, Joell Ortiz, Flo & Cassidy

  • what up guys. both of those videos are dope.

cipher #2, best to worst =
joell (killed it with the “bet” couplet)
flo- even though i only understood her dialect like 1/3 of the time, at least she didnt rhyme “people” with “people” 3 times, which brings me to
    ras kas
cassidy- really? all you can do is rhyme about diamonds and a gun? shtoops.

  • cipher #1
    bakardi slang indeed
tay- did his thing, had slick lines, but couldnt touch kardinals flow.
stat quo- i was actually kinda impressed. nothing he has recorded has impressed me much, and he couldnt really handle this beat too well, but he had some nice lines and he was ciphering with two beasts.

  • mo’ fiya.

  • phonte ripped. stat quo ripped. joell ripped. kardinal ripped.

it’s all great shit. i miss these ciphers.

  • hmm…missed the awards. shocked to see Dizzee in that mix. Nice to see BET showing the non-American rappers some love.

I got a soft spot for ciphers…this was quite pleasing to the eye. and ear.

  • I agree. Ill always have a special place for ciphers. I think I’m gonna get a few friends (stimuli. Crooked I. Torae. Etc) for a special surprise soon.

    2dopeboyz are on the rise.

  • even ras kass did a good job and i hate dude lol
