Crooked I - Hip Hop Weekly v52 (The Finale)

20080326-crook.jpg

Ladies and gentlemen. Tonight is bittersweet. On one hand we’ve got another blazing freestyle track from Crooked I, but on the other hand … it’s the last weekly! For someone who followed the series since the unofficial week 1 freestyle over Jim Jones We Fly High I find it rather depressing. Not the correct word choice but you get the idea. I find that this will be something that hip hop will always remember. 50+ tracks in a year and there were very few weak points. Congrats Crook, you made it! Check out Crook’s imeem page to listen to all the previous weeklys and check my previous post for download links. I’m not even gonna speak on this one, just download and li-li-listen! Shout out to Shake (I should’a been #1 though haha). Check after the jump for a list of the beats used…

  8. yea it’s a bummer that it’s over. but there is a lot coming from crook this year. a few mixtapes (including the crook/jay tape that shake, dj slimm and crooked i put together), a special video interview im heading out to cali in a week to do for DX, and of course … B.O.S.S.

  9. This is a good thing for hip hop. I was skeptical for the 1st ones. This was a solid 52 weeks. Good look 2dopeboyz~

  10. mediaFIRE

  11. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrat!

  12. Of the scale…

  13. He’s got a good flow, but what is he contributing to hip-hop? These are written songs, not freestyles. Maybe I missed the boat on this guy.

  14. *sigh. 54 free songs is nothing for hip hop. you’re right.

  15. how would he be contributing to hip hop if they were actually freestyles instead of writtens? The guy has put out roughly 3 albums worth of flows for FREE and people still find a way to nitpick? who cares if they’re not really freestyles, crooked is dope as fuck and this series has been better than any album I’ve heard over the past year. plus it gave me something to look forward to each week for a whole year. hope we get to hear that B.O.S.S. real soon!

  16. …what exactly qualifies as “contributing to Hip Hop” in your book? Honestly, some people aren’t happy with anything. Dumbass.

  18. Crooked ended this the right way! I don’t know how people could say this wasn’t a good thing for hip-hop, but he still won’t get respect until he’s mainstream. Oh well sad to see this end, but looking forward to the single dropping in a few!
