In the 90s gangsta rap was looked at as just ignorant music but people like Nate Dogg humanized the music cause he added soul and sophistication to the gangsta sound. Listening to his delivery you can tell he knew his homework on the great singers from before his time. LA was heavily influenced by the oldies and motown classics and thats why Nates voice was like a bridge between older people and young people in the 90s. RIP the king of hooks. Daz feat Snoop and Nate Dogg- OG. One of my favorite oldschool songs that Nate was on.

and nobody can replace Nate but now I think Butch Cassidy should carry the torch for the westcoast. He got a song called So gangsta and he was in the Eastsidaz video for Gz up.
