Ludacris – Furiously Dangerous f. Slaughterhouse (prod. Mr. Porter)

blame it on Meka April 25, 2011

The snippet dropped last week, now here’s the full version off the soundtrack to the fifth installment of the Fast & Furious movie series (due out May 5th). I don’t think that making Cannonball Run-style flicks five times over is a good thing, especially when gas prices have gotten higher with each film…

    Diplomatic Immunity

Thesis Statement: Under diplomatic immunity, diplomats should be tried in their home country for the foreign offense, no matter the crime, or the circumstance. For they wouldn’t get away with unjustice acts.
‘‘Diplomatic immunity is a principle of international law by which certain foreign government officials are not subject to the jurisdiction of local courts and other auturorities.” (‘‘Diplomatic Immunity”). A diplomatic is a government official from a foreign country, and immunity is a fancy way of saying protection. In ancient times, messengers had immunity they could travel from village to village, tribe to tribe with out of fear of harm or even when they brought bad news. In today’s day and age, it’s still basically the same thing, just for foreign officials who act something similar to messengers. “Immunity protects the channels of diplomatic communication by exempting diplomats from local jurisdiction so that they can perform their duties with freedom, independence, and security.” (“Diplomatic Immunity”). Diplomatic immunity isn’t meant for personal benefit, it is meant for foreign officials can do their jobs, but they do benefit in same kind of way, it’s a provision of international law that exempts the diplomats of a country from the laws of another.
If someone gives you keys to a back vault and says “Take some, there’s a little bit for everybody” people will abuse and take everything inside the vault for themselves, instead of taking a little bit and saving some for the next person. Just like people abuse power so will diplomats. Of course not all diplomats abuse their power but this is about the ones that do. Some diplomats treat their immunity as a license to commit a crime or a violation of the law. Supposedly in the United States, anytime a diplomat is being accused of committing a crime, the Department of State tells there government about the accused crime, they would be prosecuted like a normal person would if they committed the exact crime or violation, they request a waiver of the diplomatic’s immunity so they case ban be heard in the appropriate U.S. court. If the immunity waiver isn’t waved, the State of Department might order the withdrawal of the offender from the U.S. even if an offense committed by a family member, he and his family could be expelled and their names are put into a worldwide lockout system to keep them from coming back to the U.S. or where the offense was committed. A lot of diplomats use their immunity on traffic violations, like parking, speeding, seatbelt, whatever the case. When the police pull over these vehicles and start writing a ticket as soon as they see the diplomatic license plates, they usually throw it away or the driver of that car wouldn’t have to pay the ticket or citation issued to them, due to their immunity. These diplomats are not just abusing their immunity on small petty crimes; some have committed espionage, smuggling, child custody law violations, and event up to murder. These are all serious crimes that the average American would do some time up to a possible life sentence, but due to their “untouchable” immunity some have gotten away with it. Who knows what these people are thinking that there untouchable and can get away with it, when common sense tells you that even though you’re not in your own country you still have to follow their laws and most countries the laws are some what similar to the United States, and murder is pretty much illegal in all countries. “Christopher Van Goethem, an American Marine serving his embassy in Bucharest, Romania, disregarded a traffic signal to stop, collided with a taxi and killed the popular Romanian musician Teo Peter on December 3, 2004. Van Goethem’s blood alcohol content was estimated at 0.09% from a breathalyzer test, but he refused to give a blood sample for further testing and left for Germany before charges could be filed in Romania. The Romanian government requested the American government lift his immunity, which it has refused to do. In a court-martial, he was acquitted of manslaughter and adultery but was convicted of obstruction of justice and making false statements” (Immunity Case). They also use that immunity not just for petty crimes or serious crimes, but for financial crimes. There are some places that don’t extend credit to diplomats because they have no legal means of paying back that money borrowed, and when filed a civil case against a diplomat about unpaid debts, most likely the case will get dropped and you leave with nothing. When dealing with unpaid debts, alimony and child support, rent and taxes are all up there. A diplomat cannot get evicted. Being untouchable and not having to follow the law, isn’t fair to the anybody, if we all could get away with everything where would we be in life?
At the same time not all diplomats not all diplomats abuse there power in any way possible, actually follow the laws in the country they’re in. but this isn’t about the ones who do what they are suppose to do, and not abusing there power like the ones this paper is based on.

  • RED

Rotten Tomatoes rated this movie 79%…
The Fast and the Furious: 52%
    2 Fast 2 Furious: 36%
    Tokyo Drfit: 35%
    Fast & Furious: 27%

Those guys are pretty accurate with their movie ratings, so i’m gonna trust them when they say this is the best one out of the series.

  • Gordon B.

I liked the first one, the second one was watchable but after that they went to complete shit, how the hell can a fifth movie be better than the rest, I might have to give this a watch.
Song was decent but the hook made me want to poke my eardrums out with a ice pick.

  • SavAge

    @Gordon B.

I actually didn’t mind the last one because it was more of an actual movie than a mindless car movie. The 5th and 6th movies are being written as we speak.
