Tales From the J-Zone (Video)

In most cases, folks become devastated at the sheer thought of failure. Not J-Zone. He takes it and celebrates by writing a book (that is sitting on my desk and next up in my readings… finally). In the above clip, Zone shares a few words of wisdom with our family over at Complex.

Rap is generational. If you’re 14, you’re gonna say “Nicki Minaj won her war with Lil Kim”. If you’re 28 you’re gonna say “Yeah Lil Kim”. If you’re 42 you’re gonna say “MC Lyte would’ve killed both of those bitches”. If you’re 48 you’ll be like “You know what? My kid’s tuition is due, I don’t give a fuck about rap”.

Root For The Villain: Rap, Bullshit And A Celebration of Failure is available now. And from everyone I’ve talked to that has read it, the book is beyond worth the purchase.
