Black Madeen – Militant Minds f. Tragedy Khadafi (Video)

blame it on JES7 September 1, 2012

An underground duo who make their Islamic faith and political radicalism central themes of their work, Al-J and Yusuf of Blak Madeen know that many in America aren’t ready to hear what Militant Minds like themselves have to say. They’ve always found a receptive audience, however, among our readers—peep the response to their previous releases, including mixtape Divine Power Culture, and see for yourself. Making its world premiere right here on our front page, the inaugural song release and title track off their forthcoming project is as real, raw and revolutionary as fans have come to expect, with Teddy Roxpin layering buzzing synths over a head-noddable percussion rhythm as the crewmates deliver hard-hitting, provocative bars. Project collaborator Tragedy Khadafi, a newcomer to our pages, turns in an equally incisive 16, and director D. Gomez ties the package together with some appropriately “live and direct” visuals. Militant Minds (the EP) is scheduled to hit The DJBooth for streaming and download September 10, via Leedz Edutainment. – via DJBooth

I can dig it.
