Off the North Carolina emcee’s Black Kennedy mixtape.
KAZE resurfaces the ugly period in Black History, playing a runaway slave alongside his love interest who finds savior through a passing preacher. Whether or not he finds freedom, well, you’ll just have to watch to the end and find out. This video is not just a lesson in history, where at one point slaves in Wilmington, NC outnumbered whites 2 to 1, the concept also cleverly provides a message for the continual underground versus mainstream battle in Hip-Hop.
