Despite not physically appearing on Kanye's new album, CyHi has credits on all but one of the album's songs. MTV (what up, Rob!) caught up with CyHi to speak on what, exactly, was his part in the making of the album.

  • DamnSon

My nigga, Jesus didn't write the bible man.

  • Genesis

    ^^^^^
Exactly.... I was just about to say the same shit! Not one part!

  • Pauly D

No wonder this shit was so horrid lyrically.

CyHi the BEST poverty rapper of ALL TIME!...ALL TIME!

  • marty mcfly

Born Sinner was even worse lyrically. Cyhi was not the only person to contribute to Yeezus, in the lyrical department Yeezus had some genius writers. Pauly hates just to hate but ten years from now the lyrics will still sound fresh. Born Sinner will still be boring.

  • Pauly D

    ^^^^

Yeah. Okay. Cool. Call me when J. Cole makes a line worse than "Eatin Asian pussy all I need is sweet n sour sauce" HAH

  • Pauly D

"We get this bitch shaking like Parkinsons"

    Definitely written by CyHi

  • Pauly D

    DON'T JUDGE EM JOE BROWN!

    lol okay I'm done

  • Pauly D

    Or maybe not fck

"My mind move like a Tron bike" HAH

    "I'm a Rap-Lic Priest" HAH

    "I be speaking Swaghili" HAH

All these in ONE song. I'm done. Forreal this time

  • e

my gaydar is going off. wtf u doing with ur hands cyhi?? dudes def gay

  • marty mcfly

Kanye - "My Mind Move like a Tron bike" ? That shit was ill.

Cole's album is so full for disingenuous and watered down abcish trash this is just the tip of the ice berg of Cole's wackness.

Like, "give me 20 dolla, dolla"
Ass stupid, how you get to college, college

But hey, you know the sayin', "Fake it 'til you make it"
Me, I did the opposite, made it then I faked it

    Bitch! Bitch!
That should be my new ad lib
I got a new one. I finally got a cool ad lib
Be at all the shows everybody be like, Bitch!

I like my sundaes with a cherry Annotateon top
Make that ass drop (drop, drop)
Make that ass drop (drop, drop)
Make that ass drop (drop, drop)

Yeah Cole definitely let Nas down, there's no doubt about that when it comes to lyrics so please people never compare Cole to Nas.

  • marty mcfly

I like my sundaes with a cherry top
Make that ass drop (drop, drop)....

  • marty mcfly

This basically the theme of Born Sinner especially lyrically...

Got me up all night, all I'm singing is love songAnnotates
She got me up all night, constant drinking and love songs
She got me up all night, down and out with these love songs
She got me up all night, drown it out with these love songs
She got me up all night, all I'm singing is love songs
She got me up all night, constant drinking and love songs
She got me up all night, down and out with these love songs
She got me open all night, got me open all night

If this clown is what you punks call the future of lyricism then imo Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson and Jay Electronica need to save lyricism in hip hop cause this guy is not the one.

  • Pauly D

    ^^^^^
The fact that that line plays into the concept of the song makes your ranting of it hilarious with your ignorance HAH

    Meanwhile, on Yeezus,

    >Talks about biting ass
    >Talks about eating ass
    >Mind racing like a Tron car lo-fucking-l
    >Guh I know u need that reptile
    >black gurl sippin' white wine
But the biggest POS? "I got to sleep with a nightlight"

I FUCKING CAN'T LOOOOOOL LIKE WOW

  • Pauly D

This ALL on ONE song, mind you.

  • marty mcfly

I dont care what plays into the concept cause either the lines are dope creatively or not. There are unlimited ways you can word verses, lines, hooks, bridges etc into a song but if its not dope then its not dope. Bar for Bar Kanye has better lines then Cole and overall Cole lets his fans not who he really is with lines like - But hey, you know the sayin’, “Fake it ’til you make it”
Me, I did the opposite, made it then I faked it... There are other lines on Born Sinner where dude is shitting on himself talking about his own mentality, artistic shallowness and creative ability. I refuse to listen to the shit again cause its wack as shit but go back and listen to Born Sinner and listen to how many times he talks bad about his own damn self and take his own opinion about himself from himself. LOL

  • Pauly D

    ^^^^^^

Oh....Wow. I'm actually done. If you can't understand that Cole bashing himself was his intentions in terms of the albums creativity and subject matter, I'm lost with you. You've obviously only listened to the album one time, also, because you quoted that line without (mysteriously) posting the rest:

"But hey, you know the sayin', "Fake it 'til you make it"
Me, I did the opposite, made it then I faked it
And actin' like I gave a fuck, money I was savin' up
And copped a crib that's gated that hundred racks, I gave it up
    For what"

Dumbs niggas like marty never cease to amaze. 10/10 marty certified the WOAT

  • the realest

    Kanye the new puff

  • marty mcfly

Dude goes through a bunch of songs and almost toward the end makes I song called LET NAS DOWN. Comeonnow, what hip hop lyricist in their right mind would ever say or do that? If I nigga prides himself on being a lyricist and then makes a song called LET NAS DOWN, he's telling you dumb fucks that he is not the nigga you should trust with upholding the art. He made a bunch of excuses for his bullshit and even to this day he claims that his first album had no singles (no really he actually has said that repeatedly this week in interviews) because he doesn't wanna take accountability for his own wackness. Dudes first song is about how he wont let his soul go again cause apparently his first shit didnt come from his soul, it came from some less then true MC type of mentality... I mean I could go on but dude has dropped so many clues in his music about what he actually thinks about his self that I dont know how you fools ride for this nigga. He basically thinks of his own self as not being that dope and he implies that multiple times on Born Sinner. FOH with this nigga. If I could actually listen to this album without almost falling asleep I would point out how many much more wack lyrics are on it cause its overflowing with wackness.

  • Pauly D

    ^
    Yup. Certified WOAT. Congrats marty

  • Pauly D

This nigga catching feels because Cole made a damn SONG about one of his idols HAH

I'm done bruh, I'm so done

  • marty mcfly

@Pauly D, exactly Cole bashes HIMSELF, yes that is the point. You take it as Cole's way of creatively giving you subject matter. Ok thats fine but just think about that. To creatively give you subject matter he says and implies negative shit about his own mentality. HELLO. Thats not the only shit I catch about Cole because regardless of how much money he has or how many people think this dude is the Nas of this era. When it comes to money, artistic integrity, his relationships, his mentality etc... Dude has said alot of shit about his own self that lets you know from the horses mouth that he aint all the way 100 with this hip hop shit. Part of him is in it for reasons other then making great art. Alot of him is in for other superficial shit. Now thats cool but its people like Pauly that overlook this guys own critic of his own self and music in order to make claims about how dope he is. GTFOHWTBS This cat comes across as extremely shallow at times and not only is he pointing fingers at other niggas for that mentality but he directs some of it at himself. Now yes I get the point but it doesn't the fact that this guy has implied multiple times that he has trouble being true to the artform creatively and furthermore. If you aint gonna take my opinion then take his about his own self and think what type of artist is this really? a FAKE one and thats another reason why he directs alot of his lyrics towards women cause when he talking to real niggas that take him at his word about his own views it probably makes him in comfortable. And again im not reading to deep into the shit, im just listening to Cole talk about himself and on top of that this clown got the nerve to blame everybody else for the pressure on him it takes to create. FOH

  • Pauly D

    >Takes shots at Cole for taking shots at himself
    >Doesn't understand that the album is about imperfections and sinning
    >Mental deficiency has been identified

  • Pauly D

"exactly Cole bashes HIMSELF, yes that is the point. You take it as Cole’s way of creatively giving you subject matter. Ok thats fine but just think about that. To creatively give you subject matter he says and implies negative shit about his own mentality."

    >Obviously butthurt...or stupid. Am thinking both
    >Kanye West - Runaway. Kanye West - All of the Lights. Hell, all of MBDTF was Kanye bashing his skills and his own PERSONALITY, yet u don't have a problem with that?
    >Faggotry confirmed

  • thacarter2

@marty why even bring up born sinner? this is about YEEZUS

  • ear2ear

"I let you feel like you the shit, but boy, you can't out-fart me." - J. Cole

    if we're knit picking...

...that's one of the worst lyrics I've ever heard.

  • Pauly D

    @ear2ear

One of the worst in the past decade honestly. I really don't understand what went through Cole's mind when he made that song lol.
But then, I also don't understand some of the shit Ye said on Yeezus lol "I keep it 300, like the Romans" lol

  • marty mcfly

This cat comes across as extremely shallow at times and not only is he pointing fingers at other niggas for that mentality but he directs ALOT of it at himself.... Now yes I GET THE POINT (of writing from that self reflective perspective) but it doesn’t change the fact that this guy has implied multiple times that he has trouble being true to the artform...

  • poopoohead

    @Pauly LOL
Don't even bother with marty...he's just gonna tell you your opinion is wrong. He is far more enlightened than us.

  • Pauly D

    ^^^^^^
Nigga, multiple artists have said the same thing lo. Ye, Jay, Em, Mac, etc etc etc. Wow, you are this dumb.

And he never pointed the "finger" at Nas, the first few verses of the song was from the standpoint of him in 2011 and by the last verse he understands where he went wrong, but understands that it was another lesson in life that he had to learn

    Marty. You lost.

  • marty mcfly

@thecarter2, Im done but I wanted to make the point since Pauly is talking about dope lines between Kanye vs Cole and in addition make the point that Kanye has never questioned his own artistic ability or questions his own intention when it comes to this music shit but Cole has multiple times already. So if you mad at me, then go back and listen to how many lines that Cole is directed some shit at himself. Dude thinks some of his own shit is wack or at least thats what he implies alot.

  • Pauly D

@phead (...because I really don't wanna write that username down lol)

I fear for marty. I really do. It's like he lives in some alternate dimension where Jay-Z is God and 2DopeBoyz (dot) com is his only existance.

  • poopoohead

    @Pauly
Nope marty never loses. He'll just have you going around and around and around until he feels as though he has won.

Trust me, it's a waste of time with this guy. And when I say waste of time, I mean it seems that commenting here is all this guy does, so be prepared to dedicate serious time to this pointless bullshit. And the worst part is that none of it is to promote discussion. It's only to argue. I did it recently and I regret the decision because it was one of the biggest wastes of time in my life. So get out while you can because he's already starting to not make sense. Pauly, you are better than some hypocritical, arrogant commenter with a superiority complex on a FUCKING HIP-HOP BLOG COMMENT SECTION...and not even a good one at that. It's like a kid throwing a temper tantrum...just let him go.

  • Pauly D

What part of Kanye did the same thing, both on MBDTF and 808's, did you not understand?

  • Pauly D

    ^^^^
    Haha, duly noted man

  • marty mcfly

@Shithead, Pauly's first comment said "No wonder this shit was so horrid lyrically"... Then he went on to say some shit about "poverty" rappers. Now you talk about a discussion vs a argument? Does Pauly's comment come off like a discussion to you or does it come off as like the assumptive bullshit you used to describe my comments? The fact that you look at a discussion with me a win or lose type of thing already lets me know you really dont wanna have a rational debate at all. Anybody with sense who's been familiar with my comments on this site would know if you come at me with respect then I'll do the same and keep it just about music. You come on some opinion based negative shit then i'll return that your way. Let me tell you how you should discuss music with me if thats truly what you wanna do. Keep it about rhymes and beats and be specific about it and since you look at things as a right or wrong, win or lose type of thing then talk to me using things that are FACTS. In Cole's case there are plenty of FACTS you can bring up that we all know are true. Then I cant say your wrong if obviously what you said is a FACT. Then I will comment on the issue by using FACTS to back up my claims. Then you'll have a right vs right and then you can come to a conclusion that makes sense. THATS how you really get to the bottom of shit. Now I can tell since you've been jumping in conversations where I was not talking to you that you'll probably do the same shit again so next time remember what I just said if you talking to me. Have a good nite. Smfh

  • poopoohead

    @Marty
LOL you want to act all rational now...you brought up Cole in the other thread HARD without me saying a word about him...DEAD.

I've never seen you respond positively to someone. If someone actually said "@Marty I agree! What do you think about XYZ?" you don't respond. Also, you want to talk about me responding to you when you didn't address me? Pauly was not talking to you with his initial comment, and yet you responded to him. Once again, DEAD.

So you're all about rational discussion...then let's have one. Seriously. What do you think about that Jay/Samsung thing? I'm pretty hyped how about you? Like for real...let's have a rational discussion.

  • poopoohead

    @marty
also, if you REALLY want rational discussion, head over to reddit dot com /r/hiphopheads
