Personally, I don't enjoy this in your face flow of his in his recent songs. I liked his laid back flow from earlier songs a lot more. Maybe I'll get used to it.
shit wack.. don't see what the hype was
This DOOM beat though >>>
cosign ear2ear. I like the laid back shit a lot better
is doom MF doom?
Do niggas even see what Joey is trying to do with this project? This nigga said he's trying to make this project sound like 1999 on crack cocaine. Peep the Doom reference by the title to gain some insight of his direction, Amethyst Rockstar.....compared to Rhinestone Cowboy by Doom. Two completely different feels but still share a lot of the same qualities. This project is just a warm up before he drops his true Debut album. With all that being sad....I don't bang with this track that much, its aight nothin special.
NO HES SUPERMAN
I don't know about most people, but I dislike new artists that try to sound like the 90's.
This dude is starting to remind me of Jus Allah after he left Jedi Mind Tricks, and that's not a compliment. He's changing up his voice to sound more aggressive and it's not working
Title reminds me of something Saul Williams would make.
Ever since Unorthodox dropped, his new music hasn't been as "amazing" as it was. Just my opinion though, I have a feeling many people will disagree with me. I will admit that the track he did with Action Bronson on the XXL tape was really dope... Just not feeling the new stuff that much
He doesn't sound as comfortable trying to be aggressive. If it were someone like Jay rock rapping these lyrics I'd be more keen to listen. Beat wasn't even that great for MF
I respect Joey's skill both new and old, but personally I was feeling the more 90s flow that he had in 1999. I'm hoping he'll bring some of that back in Summer Knights.
Kirk Knight kills this beat
Amethyst Rock Star is Saul Willaim's first Album it's not a DOOM reference.
Kirk Knight is nice in this, Joey ... not so much, dude is ALL over the beat, his flow is pretty awful in my opinion, just yelling at me meek milly style.. chill bruh
Beat is dope but I'm not feelin Joey's verse.
Beat sounds like a sample from Chrono Trigger
He is setting himself apart from monotone lyrical rappers like Earl
