According to the Wall Street Journal DMX has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. With $1.24 million in back child support, over $21k on an auto lease and more owed, X’s financial woes are being blamed on prior representation. Says one of X’s current reps Domenick Nati:
DMX’s financial strains have been inhibiting his career for several years. Poor financial management by prior representation have caused him to be ineligible to retain a passport. The purpose of this bankruptcy filing is for reorganization so he can perform for his fans oversees [sic]. We are currently planning a tour in Europe and Africa for the fall of 2013.
It was all good just a week ago. Ok… maybe not, as the rapper was also arrested last week for suspicion of driving under the influence and failing to provide valid driver’s license. Double whammy.
