At this point, everyone and their moms is either sharing their opinion or being asked about Big Sean's "Control" that leaked the other night with Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica riding shotgun. And instead of flooding the site with separate posts, we're gonna try and piece together groups at a time. Up first, Just Blaze (above), Guru, 9th Wonder, El-P and Killer Mike weigh in, all offering valid points. From Blaze saying the battle-like responses are an "overreaction" to Guru guessing that sub-par NY emcees are gonna rush theirs out and El-P and Killer Mike simply saying it's how it's supposed to be (rappers going for each other's necks when they rhyme).

  • SashaKova

People need to get off Kendrick's dick, seriously. I like him, but think he's ridin' a little too much hype..

  • Maria E. Norwood

my best friend’s sister makes $89/hour on the computer. She has been unemployed for 9 months but last month her payment was $19105 just working on the computer for a few hours. Go to this web site and read more… CAℕ99.CℴM

  • Loud Mouth

I always resected Guru but dude seems real annoying, and won't let people finish a thought

  • Ahijah

The West Coast don't need to say anything he got passed The torch by The Game & Snoop last year. Fuck Banks looking to revive his career by coming at Kendrick nobody wants to hear washed up Banks with his struggle bars

  • https://twitter.com/stpmusic Dime One

crazy part about all this.. is that Kendrick borrowed/flipped the "king of new york" line off of Kurrupt from an older track they did together..

  • rdd08

Guru and 9th Wonder really put this whole Situation in Perspective

especially respect the part where they Talk about its Hard to even Directly GET AT Kendrick

  • The Vet

@rdd08 word .. It's like everybody came here to immediately show hate on Kendrick instead of watching the vids and hearing what's been said. Guru & 9th spoke pure truth.

  • Ha!

When Guru and 9th brought up the basketball comparison they hit the nail on the head. Sean scored 30, Jay put up like 35-40 but Kendrick dropped like 55 on niggas.

  • SMH @ shake

don't ever get GURU (rip) and Young Guru's name twisted. You should know better shake.

  • bigErn

Two things. Kendrick proved he's on top with the ridiculous amount of IMMEDIATE response he got just from a few bars. All these rappers wouldn't come out guns blazing if they didn't feel Kendrick was king right now. This strengthens his testament.
Second, not only is Kendrick Lamar untouchable right now as a rapper, he's pushing hip-hop/rap AS A WHOLE; genre progressing shit!! He's got these niglets desperately clawing to eat now, cuz they ain't EATIN!!

  • biff tannen

    ^stfu

    Thanks

  • Will

    Dime
you are right I forgot which tape it was off but it was the money power respect tape right?

  • gregory kruxx.

I agree with El P and Killer Mike. Not every song needs to be bars but on the REAL, this rap shit is about lyrics...period.
With that being said bring back OUTKAST!!! (Then the greatest tag team in the world will be back) No disrespect to these 2 either but fa real fa real nah mean..

  • bluntid

The take home message from all this, which Young Guru said: "Get ya bars up!" End of story

  • http://museache.com Aziz

Kendrick's verse and the pandemonium kinda reminds me of the drama in WWE, Smackdown, Monday Night Raw, etc. Lamar came out on some CM Punk shit and called out all the relevant rappers to the ring. He wants the title belt that's all. All these responses are so unnecessary too. I want all these rappers to come out with projects/albums to top GKMC

  • david

Kendrick's a nice MC but he ain't the God everyone's making him out to be. Most MCs he named, Meek Mill, Mac Miller, J Cole, Drake, Wale etc, they're all wack anyway so when he's compared to them he looks elite, but when you compare him to other nice MCs like Blu, Homeboy Sandman, Soul Khan, Nas, Method Man etc he looks mad average.

@bigErn He's got a bunch of wack rappers pullin out their pads, ain't no artist of any worth done a response

  • heskiller

I like the fact that he just showed how sensitive a "macho" genre of music is so fuckin' sensitive by doing exactly what the art of rap is... macho. the music needs a firm kick in the ass anyway. the culture supposed to evolving or have y'all forgotten what garbage mean? hip hop not hip pop or shit hop or any of that winy ass rappity rap shit. if you rhyme then rhyme.

  • fred

    RUN THE JEWELS>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

  • El Zany

@ David he called those rappers out because they are the ones who are popular at the moment. the rappers the mainstream audience knows he couldnt call the likes of Blu or the others because they wouldnt know who they where...that being said cmon all the rappers you name drop a few tracks a year and thats it this aint the 90's anymore to bring in Nas or Method in

  • DJ

Man, this Guru & 9th Debate is just a dick riding session, that verse was average as FUCK!!! I can name 5 new rappers that would murder kendrick lyrically. i love kendrick, but he average as fuck! AND Jay Elect wrote his 24 bar verse FIRST. Then kendrick wrote a 60 BAR VERSE. THATS NOT FUCKIN FAIR!!! U CANT COMPARE THAT!!!
