Back in 2001 VH1 did this flick, Too Legit: The MC Hammer Story, a biopic starring Romany Malco (or, the black guy from The 40-Year-Old Virgin) in the titular role, and it was one of the best movies I ever saw. I mean, this was also back when I used to get high more often than not (my college financial aid dollars at work, people) so I used to also think that if the movie received no Emmy or Golden Globe nods then those awards were invalid. Anyways, Video Hits One is now dipping into that same pot with this re-telling of the life and sometimes tragic times of T-Boz, Left Eye, and Chilli, which is set to air on October 21st. Have fun, ladies and germs.

Must we be reminded of that awful Hammer biopic? In fact, this should be the last time anyone mentions it. PLEASE don't let this be anything like that. The best biopics are always the ones with the memorable musical sequences & quotable lines like, "Eat the cake, Anna Mae!", (What's Love Got to Do With It) "Ain't nobody comin' to see you, Otis!" (The Temptations) "I don't want you no more" speech from The Jacksons: An American Dream. Shit that's suppose to be heartfelt but unintentionally comes off as funny.
