  • KingoftheKicks

As nice as this track is I still wondering how the original version with Ab-Liva and Common would of sound like and with Pusha paying homage to BIG & Michael Jackson in his opening verse...

  • Check-mate soon

This is that Hell hath no fury Push I was hoping to hear. Wasn't feeling that track-list, fucking compilation. But if his bars are this quality for the majority of the album, I guess there's something to look forward to.

  • Check

@Kingofthekicks... that would've been sick. Ab-liva, one of most underrated rappers ever...

  • marty mcfly

This shit is only built for cuban linx niggas, specifically the niggas who had they chain on in the 90s era when it was for more then just cool points. If you dont like the shit it just aint for you. DOPE

  • marty mcfly

    Jesus Piece and all...

  • DJ

Good Song....His Verse was average just like the Control verse tho. Stop overhyping him! He's a Good Rapper. Stop tryna make him this GOD tho.

  • deer god

There's nothing deep about wearing a chain. you need to return those fantasy books back to the library

  • woah though

People put their hearts and souls into producing intricate beats for you people and you go crazy for some shitty bongo loops?

  • lmao!

if you have the face of the savior on your fake ass chain then you have no deep meaning.

  • GEEzUS

I don't usually hate on your posts Marty but stop acting like the niggas from now were different from the niggas back then. Chains mean the same thing in this post-slavery era

  • ep

No I think GKMC was poppin. This song has shitty production and is definitely not pushing any type of lyrical boundaries. You need to chill out on assuming shit like a jealous bitch. you probably have trust issues nigga.

  • marty mcfly

Your opinion is your opinion. Its like you could see two different kinda niggas with gold chains on. For one the chain dont mean shit its just a chain and for the other it symbolizes things and it means something to that person. Same with music, clothes, cars or whatever... Its not deep to the person who aint wearing it but depending on the person it could have a meaning to them. Thats why you have people customizing they shit because it means something to them. I didnt say that niggas from now were different from back then but the times were definitely different and there's no getting around that. Just musically alone this sounds like something kinda throwback and authentic from the era of cuban linx chains and mafioso rap right? So it is what it is. Its not about knocking whatevers poppin now but dont knock the niggas who came up in the 90s era especially since half of what these new cats create now and try to live is something based on that era.

    Pusha T - Nosetalgia

20 plus years of selling Johnson & Johnson
I started out as a baby face monster
No wonder there's diaper rash on my conscience
My teething ring was numbed by the nonsense
Gem Star razor and a dinner plate
Arm and hammer and a mason jar, that's my dinner date
Then crack the window in the kitchen, let it ventilate
Cause I let it sizzle on the stove like a minute steak
Nigga, I was crack in the school zone
Two beepers on me, Starter jacket that was two toned
Four lockers, four different bitches got their mule on
Black Ferris Bueller, cutting school with his jewels on
Couldn't do wrong with a chest full of chains and a arm full of watches
What I sell for pain in the hood, I'm a doctor
Zhivago tried to fight the urge like Ivan Drago
If he dies he dies, like Doughboy to Tre
If he rides he rides, throwing punches in his room
If he cries he cries, we don't drink away the pain
When a nigga die we add a link to the chain
Inscribe a nigga name in your flesh
We playing on a higher game of chess
Once you delegate his bills who's gone fuck his bitch the best?
A million megapixels of the Pyrex
Started on the scale digital, my only Timex
Nigga, this is timeless, simply cause it's honest
Pure as the fumes that be fucking with my sinus
Nigga this is Simon says, Simon red
Blood on your diamonds til you dying; dead

Thats some real talk right there cause that verse is basically a whole generations real childhood right there. If you cant relate then good cause its not like its something positive but for those who do, they should get this album just because... DOPE (literally)

  • gregory kruxx.

@ep...you obviously dont know Hip hop...Guess ypou never listened to a BDP record, or a Just Ice record or even anything remotely street from the mid to late 80s to the early 90s..."This aint rappin, this is Street Hop..."
@marty ...well said... if niggahs dnt get it thats they problem,,,
funny how people like drakes gona shit on pushas album..pushas gona shit on drakes album...man NIGGAHS SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!!!!!!! GO GET EM BOTH N ENJOY THEM BOTH...BOTH WILL BE DOPE..BELIEVE DAT

  • marty mcfly

@kruxx, yeah both albums are dope. I really dont care about the difference in subject matter as long as both are done well. As for Kendrick's verse? Everybody know im not his biggest fan but I think his verse is dope. Its like Pusha is rhyming from the perspective of somebody with a long history in the streets like many from his era and age range are familiar with and Kendrick is like the son of that nigga or the next era. He basically saying that shit is washed up now and his style (which would be the music itself) is whats dope now and thats cool. So overall its a dope song but imo Pusha coming with some fire.

  • Cool

IMO Pusha Ton slayed K Dot. Pusha's verse was rawer. The perspective of the drug dealer, heartless, immoral, arrogant and carefree of consequences. Kendrick's verse is witnessing people use. How they do it, when they do it and why they do it. I think he's talking about his parents. Pusha T's verse is killer with doper imagery and metaphors. Yall can talk about Drake's album and Kendrick's Control verse BUT THIS IS FUCKIN PUSHA T!!!.........haha

  • Check

@marty "A whole generation's real childhoold?" wtf does that even mean? Pusha T raps about nothing but COCAINE. His lyrics are hardly era specific and drug dealing is not a generational phenomenon. Fuck outa hear with "cuban linx niggas" lol. Shits irrelevant.

  • ep

kid, nobody gives a fuck about the high school research you just caught up on last night. If you haven't realized that hip hop and music in general is subjective then you need to do more homework and stop listening to that bullshit.

  • http://breezyexcursion.com eBagatron

Still same subject matter (anyone surprised?) but it's a dope track. This will probably be the best track of MNIMN. If there's another one better it'll be a pleasant surprise.
    ------
But let's be honest, an album full of tracks like this isn't a coherent ride, and I think that's where Pusha can't break out of his element, by putting out a well-done "work of art" so to speak. People comparing NWTS and MNIMN is apples to oranges.

  • marty mcfly

@Check, In the 80s cocaine began to be converted into crack, this had a effect on the times that was generation defining. Leading to drug wars in inner city areas and then leading to hustlers who were largely teenagers at the time becoming hustlers both in and outta town. These actions found there way into hip hop culture leading to songs about drugs which led to Raekwon's debut called Only Built For Cuban Linx which is what im referring to by my comments. Now assuming you already knew all this, its no need to act like you dont know if you do. Yes there is a whole generation of "80s babies" who were effected by that era whether they grew up hustling or just grew up seeing that activity.

  • marty mcfly

70s babies as well. Now you can nitpick my comment or say whatever to counter it but you know what I mean. Obviously Pusha is speaking on a certain experience in america so lets not play stupid.

  • yoraps

Push got'em...sorry Kendrock...nice verse but King Push got you. great song.

  • jorgey

"We playing on a higher game of chess
Once you delegate his bills who’s gone fuck his bitch the best?"

the honesty in that is woooooooo!

  • Mike Tomlin

"But let’s be honest, an album full of tracks like this isn’t a coherent ride"

I gotta agree with eBagtron. This song is dope as are a lot of other Pusha T songs but I'm not gonna sit down and listen to an entire Pusha T album from start to finish for months at a time. I actually think hes better suited as a feature because hes got bars and knowledge and honesty and all that but when it comes to music.... hes just not a great musician. Kendrick put together a work of art which included cocaine and struggle along with so many things but Pusha is putting together 16 tracks about that without much else.

  • Will

Mike Tomlin- Kendrick put together a work of art which included cocaine and struggle along with so many things but Pusha is putting together 16 tracks about that without much else.

I can tell you have never listened to the Clipse back in the day, what you wrote was someone who does not know. Pusha is a legend, he and his brother reached a height that Kendrick is trying to reach he has nothing to prove. This song was dominated by Push and it reflected a time in the game where the chain game was absolute. He is the old head and Kendrick is the new jack who sees the game differently now because of the new era he is in. Both were good but Push told the story better.

  • Will Da God

Pusha don't need to bow out to the youngins he schooled him on his track. The more I hear from Kendrick the more I laugh, because if you listen this nigga is really nothing but hype. I suggest his fans listen to some real complex rappers with content like Cannibal Ox, El-P, Mr. Muthafuckin Exquire, Danny Brown, Ka, hell even his band mate Ab-Soul, because he is better than him. Listen to them and then come back and say Kendrick is the best I will be waiting.

  • Dave

Pusha T murdered this shit I bet you the kendrick stans are gonna twist this one hahaha that Drake is good too.

  • Check

    Cosign @Will...

  • FlyBoiTay

It's funny listening to rap now...all the batlle rap influence. Dope track for sure though

  • Dee 1

^ Dude this is how hip-hop was before the battle rap everyone was competing you must be a 90's nigga 4 sho.

  • Mike Tomlin

@Will you know what Clipse had that Pusha doesnt? No Malice...

Im 27 so I know good and well about the Clipse. Are you telling me you expect MNIMN to have a Grindin or a What Happened to that Boy? Cause I sure dont.

Not saying those were the Clipse hottest tracks by a longshot. BUT they did have replay value and still do. I'm just not sure Pusha can stand up on his own for an entire album.

  • Will

That is your opinion, but the obvious answer is yes. Malice was great as well but Pusha was always the balance between them that is a fact. Pusha balances his music very well and he will have a solid album I believe. He has production done on this by NOTTS an underground MC/producer. I think he knows what he is reaching for with this album. He has always had flow and lyrics this song showcases this fact, so why do you not believe he can. He obviously overshadowed kendrick on this song (of whom I am not really a fan of).

Its your opinion, but the fact still stands that he is not some cookie cutter rapper you can just up and write off.

  • 2PACWOULDBEASHAMED

This shits dryer than smokey the bears asss! I swear you lames just need some pussy. You fuckin' loooosers! I swear BIG and PAC were lyricists too but they had fuckn soul! Push is gonna need 40 more kanye rants before this shit goes gold. And Kendrick's a king but only too you fuckin peasants!! It would be more entertaining if he told stories of smuggling crack on his ass! Fuckin wanna be hip hop fan fags *walks off*

  • LA

"Walks Off" LMFAO!!!! Ok Mr.Cool Guy

I think you are the one who needs some pussy b/c i can tell you spend too much time on the net

  • MF

I'm no Kendrick Stan but often hip hop scholars or fundis often brush
off as a pretender to the throne of lyricism; as if the kid hasn't worked his ass off to get to where he's at.

Kid deserves all the love he's getting now. Listen to "Rigamortis", "Look out For Detox" and "Heat pt. 2" just to mention the few - and tell me the he's not worthy. If you still won't acknowledge him, then you simply just a hater.

  • al

THIS WHOLE SONG IS FUCKING DOPE

  • jeremynotthesinger

Great song, but Pusha out rapped Kendrick.

  • YT

"Eminem murdered you on your own shit." the day Nas fuck up the game.

  • MusicHead

Kendrick Lamar >> Pusha T. The end.

Kendrick STILL the best rapper alive, my nigga.

  • Will

    MusicHead

I think you should change your name to mainstream head, because kendrick is far from the best rapper alive. You just proved your probably 16 or 17 saying this shit. Pusha checked him on this track and ironically this is one of the guys he named drop, but could not keep up with him on this track. Listen to the lyrics dude and stop dickriding its getting played out high schooler.

I can name 4 rappers right now who will crush him with ease; El-P, Danny Brown, Mr. Muthafuckin Exquire, and Killer Mike. Now get back to me and say they are trash lol, then I will know what you are.

  • krackheAD

    plz......riff raff the best rapper.

    • LanceMartell

      Thats what im saying!

  • RDMS

@ Will if you took the time to spell that shit out you just proved Kendrick is problem. How many Kendrick EP/LP's have your listened too? Ain't no BEST but there's some Simple Simons have no context but speak out.

  • MF

    @Will

Did you say Danny Brown? The toothless, perm wearing, skinny leather pants wearing nigga?

In your opinion the world would better off hear more of Danny Brown than Kendrick?

    Come on now!

  • SHOWMAN3000

ANOTHER KENDRICK OVERHYPED VERSE. It was a good verse straight song. Nothing that I would remember or keep in rotation. Pusha spit some good bars but the beat, hook and lyrics were avg.

I can't wait to hear what all the Kendrick-lovers (who didn't even know him or barely cared about him when he was K.Dot) will say when he's either over-saturated or starts to fall off in some ppls eyes or isn't pleasing to this so-called-Kendrick fans. It's just a cycle of ppl pushing expectations out there hoping the fans perception will become the reality for the artists: until the artist "lets them down" then they'll say "he changed" "he was never that hot" etc. Ppl want a "savior" or be able to claim someone as their "rapper" or been "a fan from the beginning" that they hype everything, the hot songs, the avg songs and the ok songs or even wak ones.

  • Doubledown

props for including the bridge is over
