Anyone that knows me, or follows me on any social media platform, knows I rep the 49ers alll day. But when I got the call to help shoot a piece for Jay-Z’s Life+Times with the Atlanta Falcons’ new running back Steven Jackson (who was born and raised in Las Vegas), I couldn’t help but oblige.
Having amassed more than 10,000 rushing yards over the course of his career, Steven Jackson has joined an elite club of fellow running backs. However, having just turned 30–an age where running backs particularly face a precipitous decline–Jackson finds himself at a crossroads: new team (Atlanta Falcons after nine years with the St. Louis Rams) and new expectations (contributor on a playoff contender instead of starring role on a struggling team). Here, Life + Times meets up with Jackson at his homes in his native Las Vegas and Atlanta, gaining insight into this new phase of his career.
Overall the experience was amazing and I can’t help but thank Steven and his people for a great weekend.
