With a week left before Because the Internet is officially available, Childish Gambino gives iTunes the green light to offer a free stream. Featuring previous leaks “The Worst Guys” with Chance the Rapper, “3005,” (which has the BEST lyric video ever) “Sweatpants” and more, the 19-track project is definitely worth a listen.

STREAM/PRE-ORDER: Childish Gambino – Because the Internet [iTunes]

Listened last night and enjoyed it quite a bit. Dope album.

    • Brian Kidd

I agree….more cohesive album than Camp even though I enjoyed that album too…

    • apparently we can’t listen to it in the netherlands.

    • Pops

Listening now and thoroughly enjoying the vibe. Gambino has sort of found his groove, imo. Used to seem like he was trying too hard to be different. This shit is different but in a good way. Doesn’t sound forced and he seems to have found a happy medium between his raps and the harmonizing he does (which is highly underrated).

  • Anthony Osei

Album of the year. Late entry.

  • pacmaniac

dope album.lyrically it isn’t going to convince anyone within hip hop that doesn’t like him already, but the production is creative as
hell.can’t remember the last time i heard an album by a rapper that’s this diverse with beats.

‘flight of the navigator’ is the shit.dude got me bumping a straight up love song.

Lyrically, we must have not been listening to the same album, because he murdered the production. He was constantly switching up his flow and speeding up and slowing down, the verbal assault was there. He does not need to prove why he is a force to be reckoned with, he did it on Sick Boi, the I am not a rapper series, Culdesac, all the way to Royalty.

If people say this dude is not one of the best, than they need to put down the lamar(He is not true backpack rap in the least). This is true backpack rap at its purest form.

  • Prince Akeem

Decent album. Alot of filler and a little unfocused and random but some good tracks in there

    • Zachery Quinones

      Because dude that’s the internet…duh!

      • Prince Akeem

        lol clever excuse

        • Zachery Quinones

          Where’s the Semi at?

          • Prince Akeem

he’s mopping the floor, my neighbor

  • Ghost Of Len Bias

    That 3K5 Lyric Video…. O_O

  • Zach Rhodes

There’s no Macklemore feature…whatchu talkin bout willis?

    • Prince Akeem

lol the bootleg labelled macklemore instead of azealia banks. 2dbz bootlegging!

      • de_costa

Swear azealia isn’t on it either.. not something I’m mad at though, can’t stand that girl

  • Sirilly

Yep, this will definitely be in my top 5 Hip-Hop albums of the year.

  • PV

I’m sure I’ll get a lot of flack for this since people seem to like this guy, but all he is is a poor man’s drake

    • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

I respect your opinion, but this album is better than NWTS. The production itself was diverse, then he came and showed you he can murder you with a few flows niggas is using now. Drake is not a strong enough rapper to go toe-to-toe with Bino, plus his singing is also superior.

  • classic

are all the versions of the leak the same? track 19 cuts off before it finishes =

  • Tete Envy’Me Williams

Damnnn the crawl is my shit!!!!

  • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

I enjoyed the album even though it came out during the later portion of 13, it is a candidate for AOTY if not AOTY. It is too unique even the interludes in the album begin to sync as you listen. He is a quintessential backpack emcee at his core. The lyrics and flow were witty and too clever.

He had as a diverse style of flows as did the production. Another thing hip-hop heads should think about, is what Childish Gambino’s (people like him) do for the culture. His ingenuity and his overall style is something new with a splash of dedication to the old era. I would go as far as to say Bino is the Beatles of hip-hop.

He is very expressive in a day and age where original cliched emcees are still getting too much praise, thank you for not being cliche, he is breaking the mold and revolutionizing alternative hip-hop. I cannot wait to see what he does next.

    • mlopez101

Totally agree. He has shown so much growth from his first album! He’s even incorporating Drake-esque vocals into his style. His ear for production is impeccable as well! Love this song too

  • Vanetria

Every song is so dope…The Screenplay along with the Prelude “Clapping For The Wrong Reasons” completed the whole project for me. Dope experience for a dope album.
