About a year ago, Gensu Dean began working on a project (Abrasions) with Planet Asia. At the same time, Mello Music Group label-mate Apollo Brown began his work with Guilty Simpson on a record (Dice Game). Enjoying each other’s work, the two producers decided to challenge each other and produce new versions of the other’s respective projects. Gensu would take Planet Asia’s vocals and rework them, while Apollo would do the same with Guilty Simpson’s verses. The result? A two-side project, Abrasions: Stitched Up and Dice Game: Shaken, due out January 14th.

The first leak from Dice Game: Shaken features Gensu Dean putting his touches on Guilty Simpson and Apollo Brown’s “Ink Blotches.”

Drawing out new textures and angles from the raw and reflective Guilty Simpson verses, Gensu reveals uncanny dexterity with the legendary Hip-Hop production tool – the SP1200.

The first track from Abrasions: Stitched Up, which features Apollo Brown remixing Planet Asia and Gensu Dean’s “God Hour,” can be found here.
