According to Billboard, Puffy's major label debut is expected to top the charts, selling between 150,000 and 160,000 copies of OXYMORON.

Following in Beyoncé's footsteps and surprise-dropping his new album Satellite Flight: The Journey To Mother Moon, KiD CuDi is expected to follow right behind Q and sell approximately 90,000 copies of the album.

All of this comes a week before both Rick Ross (Mastermind) and Pharrell (G I R L) release their own respective albums. Maybe hip-hop can run the charts for two straight weeks? We shall see.

honestly surprised Cudi is gonna move that many units, I guess this style of rollout leads to a lot of impulse purchases

    • Cam TexasBoy Perry

he got a nice loyal fanbase. he can drop anything and it will sell 70k to 100k. he doesn't even really need a label

    • Dave

His fans aint no joke. Niggas will take a bullet for him

  • quas

kid cudi's album came straight outa left field and is definitely his best work in a long time. As of now it has more plays than oxymoron..

    • Enjoyer of Music

saying that this is CuDi's best work in awhile doesn't really say much tho.

    • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

Honestly that is you're opinion, but that album was not a garbage project all the way but more of: "I could care less if I never hear it again type of project from him".

  • Tino

Super suprised Cudi sold that much because his album sucked in my opinion. Congrats to Groovy Q tho, Oxymoron is dope as hell.

    • Dave

      Dont diss Cudi

  • thatrandomguy

Who you think is going to sell more between Rick Ross and Pharrell?

    • MiguelGutierrez

      Rozay...

      • TheRealPaperKut

        Nah, white people love Pharrell.

        • http://www.youtube.com/user/ViLLyViLLz?feature=mhee $pruce Yee

          But white people love rozay...

          • MusicHead

Not as much as Pharrell tho lol

        • MiguelGutierrez

          You'll see my friend.

        • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

It is sad that we have to rely on what White people like in the first place tho LOL.

      • Josh

Pharrell...and it won't be close. Pharrell has the #1 single in America and featured on two of the four biggest hits of last year. He's got way more buzz and interest than Ross does atm. Pharrell will outsell Ross 2-to-1. Bet.

  • MiguelGutierrez

God bless TDE!! Congrats to Grovy Q and Cudder.

i was kinda disappointed in OXYMORON..

    • sineng

at first i was disappointed too but it was kind of a mixture between heard too many tracks off it already and then waiting too long (although q never had a real release date) and finally getting caught up in all the "its going to be better than gkmc" hype. i was expecting too much. now that i sat with this for a week i can honestly say i think this is a great album! not gkmc level but still very very good. ordered the deluxe off amazon too. i dont know, maybe we gotta stop listening to leaked tracks off albums before they drop and not have the highest expectations every time. but then again, this is tde, they are all about raising expectations. i tell to myself everytime that i wont listen to any leaks and never worked out haha. but i fucks with oxymoron and tde is the best thing happening in music right now. i hope your opinion on the album changes over time too.

      • thatrandomguy

"... heard too many tracks off it already". This.

        • sineng

every single time breh. i swear.

  • HeruthaGod (Original N-G-R)

I remember about a month ago niggas came at me foul for saying Q could possibly do 175K+ first week & told me he was more likely to do 70-85K lol

    • Mike Deezy

      that was like last week.

      • HeruthaGod (Original N-G-R)

        nah it was a month

    • Pizza Steve

Haha I think remember that, niggas always wrong

      • HeruthaGod (Original N-G-R)

        Right lol

    • jordan

well if his own camp wont buy like 20k+ albums for promotion and free give aways he will sell around 100k.

    • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

It just goes to show you how much niggas got faith in their own genre, brotha good shit tho, you was speaking truth.

      • HeruthaGod (Original N-G-R)

        Thanks bruh

    • Johnny Said

That's because every person on this site thinks they're an A&R lol

  • Chris Brown

    ball so hard

  • 2dope4nope

Congratulations. Well deserved next up for #1 album Soulo and Rock, might be stretching it but can just hope right, and props to Top Dawg Ent thanks for the music to my ears!

  • Guest

Anyone else notice that it says "Puffy's Major Label Debut"?

    • Mac Dre

Yeah, that's what Oxymoron is lol. So?

    • BounceB

clearly youre not a big TDE stan its cool lol..but one of Q's nicknames is Puffy he refers to himself as that and has been for awhile even diddy gave him permission lol

  • Beard Gawd

I'm honestly kind of surprised with these numbers considering Q hasn't had any of his singles do any damage on the charts but I wonder if any singles will catch on the way 'Swimming Pools' did for K. Dot after GKMC dropped.

Anyways, 'Oxymoron' was solid. Soul's probably my favourite from TDE so I hope his upcoming project will be fuckin' fire.

  • xastey

    Congrats Q.

  • Exhibit C

Happy for Q, he earned it, it's a great album. I hope Soulo and Rock can do those numbers too but more importantly keep the streak of great albums coming. Since the days of Follow Me Home, Section.80, Control System, Habits and Contradictions everything from these guys has been great. I would even call all four of those albums personal classics. I remember the exact time in my life when all four of those albums came out and I played them all for like a month straight each one.

    • MusicHead

Yea that streak of 4 albums.. WAS GOLDEN.

  • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

Great album from Q, not so fond of Cudi, but if it is good for hip-hop who the fuck cares. As a hip-hop fan, I want to see my genre represent on the charts hard.

  • Charlie Van Horn

Wow, must have been a slow week. Good for Q...album is ok at best, lol. Best songs are the ones released before the album dropped. KiD CuDi's is HORRIBLE. Hip Hop is slowly heading down the drain due to mainstream Hip Pop garbage clogging up the airways.

  • Chris Brown

cudi's fall from epicness is also epic

  • Isaiah

Once you people realize that Cudi is not a hip hop artist you will be able to view his music in the correct aspect. There is actually only one song where Cudi raps on the album. Stop critiquing his music as hip hop. He is indie-alternative artist. Cudi ha repeated this several times yet people review his music as rap. Hip Hop is not good to me anymore. Most artist just follow trends.

    • MusicHead

That's prolly why I think his music so trash now.

  • disqus_pyrGXaSTDx

not bad for Q, didnt asap sell similar without being in the same crew as the worlds current favourite rapper and less music out and leaking a month early.. just an observation.. I rock with both.

  • Joe Dirt

    cudders album is absolute trash

    • MusicHead

      SUPER TRASH.

  • ded red

Pharrell is gonna crap on all 3 of their numbers combined.

  • Dave

If Cudi promoted like Q i bet you my last dollar he would be number 1 and not Q. But im happy for them both. Congrats
