As many know by now, legendary house DJ/producer Frankie Knuckles passed away from complications due to diabetes on May 31st. The BX-born, Chicago-bred DJ gave rise to the Chicago house brand. Using his knowledge of beat matching in New York, Knuckles brought the style of DJing to a formerly unfamiliar Chicago crowd, eventually securing a gig at the Warehouse.

To pay tribute to the house / disco-remix pioneer, Da Beatminerz’s DJ Evil Dee recently put together this compilation for his Lunchtime Mix, recorded in one take. Lots of soulful house classics sprinkled throughout. Peace to ego trip.
