Sad news hip hop heads, there will be no Paid Dues festival this year. In an online statement, founder Murs announced the cancellation and explained the reasoning behind it, citing Guerilla Union's financially-challenging year as a direct source.

To help soften the blow, Murs promises to bring back Paid Dues for it's tenth anniversary in 2015.

Damn... I had a feeling this might happen, but was hoping for a hail mary.

  • Wow, praying for Murs and the whole Paid Dues collective. This economy is rough.

      Tell that to Apple.

Last year Apple made more profit than Microsoft, and Google, and Facebook, and EBay and Yahoo. Combined.

Not only does Apple have 70% of all mobile phone profits.

But it is also dominating tablets. With an equally large profit share.

Maybe Murs & Co. need to step their game up business-wise?

      • You mentioned it though. Apple dominates the market. That is why they are flourishing.

First Rock the Bells on the East and now this...damn shame

Honestly I was just putting that shit together as well; but my girlfriend and I were on a 10hr drive to DC when we got the news about Rock The Bells being cancelled (which was the day before the show) and I couldnt for the life of me comprehend why or how that was happening, and seeing this announcement only regurgitates a gang of hard feelings towards Guerilla Union!! For the sake of myself and fans everywhere I sincerely hope they get their shit together.
