Travi$ Scott – Don’t Play f. Big Sean [CDQ]

blame it on Shake May 6, 2014

We saw them perform it during the G.O.O.D. Music showcase at SXSW earlier this year, heard a radio rip shortly after and some even heard an early version as it prematurely leaked last week. Now, Travi$ Scott has officially released the official version of the Vinylz-produced “Don’t Play” featuring Big Sean and indie rock band The 1975.

Rodeo, coming soon.

  • MusicHead

IM glad to see u niggas realizing this nigga makes FIRE. He turns that trap beat influenced shit into some way better musically trap beat shit. This nigga just DOPE. Been on repeat. Even since the clean version dropped..beat all types of fire.

  • leutrim

This is fire, really liked Owl Pharaohe and I’m looking forward to his evolution as an artist

  • Yak&Toro

S/O for sampling some baroque music on this one.

    • SaltineCracker

I think the only thing thats a sample is the dude singing at the start, “The 1975 – Money”

  • disqus_pyrGXaSTDx

  • SonSon

yeah this is cool. He sounds more like himself than anybody else now, which was one of the problems i had with dude initially. will def look out for more..

  • JJ//WOLF

    Finally the CDQ, goes hard.

travis scott is definately the most underrated dude in good music, track slaps hardcore.

  • bad boy Robby

i will never understand why people dislike this guy, incredible talent

    • The Truth✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

  • j4ipod94

    sounds cleaann

  • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

I find it funny how a beat can still somehow win him over props by some people. I have no problem with the trap sound, but he initially is not doing anything that much different from other artist, his production just sounds like a track off the Yeezus album. The same album niggas was hating on.

This sounds like a lost track from that album, with some traditional trap lyrics and niggas are saying it is hot, but this was done already on Yeezus LOL. I love the hypocrisy of some people.

    • Sticky

Travi$ Scott did co-produce a few songs on yeezus so that would make sense, but I agree I haven’t really heard anything too impressive from him yet

      • NoWuff

I heard somewhere that he sat in on the full production.

        • Sticky

Yeah probably but he’s only in the track listing for a few

          • DjKhaled is MyFather

I mean Kanye signed him right after Owl Pharaoh dropped. Then Yeezus ended up sounding just like his shit… I feel like him and Kanye are either on the same level or Kanye signed him to appropriate his steez

    • poole

but yeezus was, no way you can call it bad to me if you actually listen to it…listen to any of travis music and anything from cruel summer til now of kanye or GOOD in general and you will see travis is that musical influence

      • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

Yeezus was not bad, people are just dick riding on popular opinion. When I hear this track it sounds like a Yeezus throwaway, that could not get cleared or some shit. I am more surprised by people, because Travis is more simpler than Kanye when it comes to lyrics and the production sounds the same, only difference is niggas love it and hate yeezus, a little backwards when you use the mind God gave you.

        • Sticky

I think that’s just the way of the music business. They love to root for someone on the come up but once they are on top the critics pop up. Example: what has happened to pretty much every black hippy member

    • MusicHead

Yeezus was Kanye bitin Travis style…also Travis makes dope music & knows how to deliver verses with his dope flows. He’s a dope artist. This song is actually more fire than anything on Yeezus.

      • disqus_xpmwx1oUV3

You are trippin, Travis did not invent this style. Kanye along with several other producers were going for this style already when they were making production on cruel summer. I know that this is you’re opinion, but Yeezus is much better.

Another thing too, Travis cannot really rap not that I am holding it against him. I am just stating the obvious I have heard better bars from the migos, with some of the shit this cat says. I like him more for production, not so much on rapping LOL!

        • MusicHead

Bruh Kanye was goin for the style til Travis, you csn believe that..have j noticed that Kanye had did that with every new artist of his, he’s aligned himself with. 808s was all Cudi style. Grad was Sean style at that time…I’m tellin u. Travis does the style better cause it actually his. & bruh what? Travis can rap..u heard MIA? Uptown? Blocka La Flame, Up? He may not be all lyrical but that’s not his style his bars is straight to the point & to paint a brief story. U cudda said Mike Dean was goin for it before Ye, you givin too much credit to Ye without doin ya research. Yeezus was dope don’t get me wrong, 2-10 but you can OBVIOUSLY see the Travis influence..homie Ye gotta new song called “God Level” like that’s not Travis termanology also travis gotta song already called that c’mon now.

          • MusicHead

*Kanye wasnt goin for the style til

  • Alex

This niggas concerts in the most turnt up, on everything he had muthafuckas moshing

  • NoWuff

Holy Shit! This just made me go fucking DUMB in the middle of the library!

  • KVTO.

    Nothing but FIRE!
