Although he didn’t perform this time around, Ab-Soul made his way out to New York to catch Hot 97’s Summer Jam 2014. After the festivities, the Black Lip Pastor sat down with Peter Rosenberg for a special episode of Real Late. Mek already posted about it in the “Stigmata” Decoded post, but I felt it needed it’s own.

For a half-hour, Soulo speaks on the competitive nature of TDE, These Days… (which is said to be a “Top Dawg function”), Stevens-Johnson syndrome and growing up in a record shop. He also talks about his relocation to New York and what he hates about living in the city, his relationship with Yaris Sanchez and more.

I want to see Ab Soul win but its gonna be tough when your album was announced a month before it drops. Hopefully 100K at least

Most of TDE runs on sheer fan support as opposed to regular promotion and singles and stuff.

Man the album isn’t coming out on the 24th, that’s a marketing strategy. This is just to capture the TDE fans’ attention, they’ll push it at least once to hype it even more so the sales don’t flop.
