I don’t know about you, but I’ve been hearing way too many rap songs that lack depth in the drums department. A couple of snare hits and maybe some hi-hats or “ghost snares” but no drums or bassline? That’s just barbaric!
Thankfully we have OGs like DJ Scratch who know all too well about this new fad that’s plaguing the genre; who understands the importance of the kick and snare. A great example is his remix to Nas’ “It Ain’t Hard To Tell” which will appear on his upcoming Scratchmatic project out July 4th. Peace to Robbie on the heads up and a-alike mind.
