It’s with a heavy heart that we must share the tragic news of legendary singer/songwriter Bobby Womack’s death. The Grammy-nominated and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted musician passed away at the age of 70 on Friday, June 27th. Although there is no official word on the cause of death, it could be possibly attributed to the several health issues he’s been dealing with.

Womack, who has writing credits for luminaries like The Rolling Stones, Wilson Pickett, Jerry Butler, Margie Joseph and New Birth, is probably best known for his contributions to the soundtrack to the classic blaxploitation film, Across 110th Street.

Rest In Power, Bobby Womack.
