Since the very first day Kendrick Lamar‘s good kid, m.A.A.d city hit shelves leaked, fans have been clamoring for an accompanying film. For an album as cohesive and concept-driven as it is, it was only right to have a visual to pair it with.

Well folks, the time has arrived. On Saturday, August 9th, Kendrick and award-winning director Kahlil Joseph will debut m.A.A.d, a 14-minute short film inspired by K. Dot’s major label debut described as “a kaleidoscope of story lines and ideas that defy typical categorization to explore new languages and new forms,” at Sundance’s first annual NEXT Fest.
