Drake Salutes Kendrick Lamar At OVO Fest

blame it on Shake August 5, 2014

The fifth annual OVO Fest went down this weekend and Drake didn’t disappoint. Following Sunday’s show headlined by Outkast, the Toronto kid decided to up the ante for the closing night. Surprising the crowd with performances from Lauryn Hill, G-Unit, J. Cole, Chris Brown, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Majid Jordan, Usher, Trey Songz and Tinashe.

Even with all the stellar performances, one of the most memorable moments occurred when the music was off. During J. Cole’s visitation on stage, Drake made sure to clarify past statements and offer praise to Kendrick Lamar. Seemingly putting an end to whatever “beef” the two may or may not have had.

“While I got you here on stage. While you all got your phones out. I want to shout out my nigga Kendrick Lamar. Shout out to Kendrick! Kendrick was on my album, we went on tour together. That’s one of the hardest niggas alive right there. He’s legendary.”
