It’s unfortunate that Buddy and Pharrell’s relationship fizzled out the way it did, because his Idle Time project had everything he needed to break out. Stellar production from Pharrell, Chuck Inglish, Cardo, and Boi-1da, guest features from Kendrick Lamar (“Staircases“), Robin Thicke, Freddie Gibbs, Casey Veggies, Asher Roth (“She Go (Aw Nah)“), and more. Hell, even Miley Cyrus came through on the Pharrell-produced “Smoke Signals“. It’s not that the project did “bad” per se, but an extra push from Pharrell would’ve gone a long way.
Today, the Compton resident unearths a previously unreleased cut that he and Uncle Snoop laced back in 2011 over some sinister Christian Rich production. Press play on the “Crime Of The Century” below.
