I thought fortilive was a trio, with illmind being the producer.

    • Motion Fiction Media

Illmind broke off from them a few years ago.

      • biff tannen

That’s a real shame. They made a great album together.

        • Motion Fiction Media

I agree. That album was really good.

I think illmind split off around the time he started picking up steam as a producer. I’m thinking it was around the same time he did all of those amazing songs for Little Brother. I know he always worked with them from the beginning of his career but he showed some real versatility on Little Brother’s Album: Getback. He did: Sirens, Can’t Win For Losing, Good Clothes, and That Ain’t Love. The other producers credited on that album were: 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Nottz, Mr. Porter, and Hi-Tek. Good company and he showed he could hang with them, as I felt the thread that tied that album together was illmind’s production. Either way, the trio that made Fortilive early on was great. Mushmouf and Slo-Mo are both great but I wish Slo-Mo got way more recognition.

Keelay & Zaire are producers and had some popularity buzzing a few years ago. I know Zaire is heavily involved in the movement that’s behind this post’s video (Fortilive – Knock Knock) whereas I think Keelay was/is working with the Hip Hop Band The Park & Singer Ragen Fykes under the name Grillade:

I know The Park has gone on tour with Freddie Gibbs and done some other stuff behind the scenes, I think they maybe even were on a few of the late night shows as musical guests but it’s hard to find all of their stuff with searches due to their name.

Slo-mo’s new solo “Fast food and gangs”
        http://theuceman.bandcamp.com/album/fast-food-n-gangs

We have 3 new projects coming, this one dropping on the 17th is a bunch of songs we did over the course of a weekend…hence the name. Our follow up to I vs I drops in Dec. I understand the illmind split is a question that’s going to come up and we’ll go in detail on that when the times right. We do have another album that was completely produced by illmind that features little brother and others that we worked on around the time of the minstrel show. We’re dropping that next year as well. Thanks for checking for us thru out the years man, and I agree….Slo Mo should be famous. Hopefully the new shit doesn’t disappoint.

Hey, thanks for the reply. I’ve known and followed the Sole Vibe Crew for years and years so it’s only natural I’ve followed their producers and artists and who they run with. I can’t believe how far Emilio Rojas has come! I still have the physical copy of Riding High in my car as well as about 10 hand written CD-R’s from Zaire. Ah, the good old days. I’ll be looking out for your stuff Mush, and don’t think I meant any slight to you while only bringing up Slo-Mo’s recognition. You guys both deserve shine, I just don’t know a single other human being that recognizes him at all where as you have some level of fame amongst people I know. Be good!

          • Mush Meezy

No doubt bro! The Sole Vibe is our day one fam and i”m proud to see where guys like Emilio and Keelay and Zaire receive recognition for all the dope stuff they’ve done and continue to do. No worries ever on the slo-mo mention, that’s my brother. i’ve told him since we were kids that he’s the best and that i owe alot of my growth as an MC to him, so trust me when i say im right there with you! the dopest part about most of our new projects including Slo aka (the uce’s) solo is that he produced all of it for the most part. Its a new chapter for us and hopefully the best one yet. thanks for supporting though man, we sincerely do appreciate all the love all of you guys show!
