So, as you may know Mike and Producto jokingly announced a “special edition” of their upcoming Run The Jewels 2 album, in which the album would be re-recorded using nothing but the sounds of cats, for $40,000. Hilariously enough, some fans would then launch a Kickstarter and not only raised the 40 racks but exceeded it. So now, true to their word, Run The Jewels will recreate the album as Meow The Jewels. Featuring the likes of Just Blaze, The Alchemist, Dan the Automator, Prince Paul, and many others, the “new” version of the album will release sometime after RTJ2 drops on October 27th. The money that was raised to “make” the album, however, will instead be donated to the families of Mike Brown and Eric Garner.
