2Dope To Sleep On: Boogie (LBC)

What’s with this immense pool of talent coming out of Long Beach, California (I mean, aside from it being the greatest city in the world)? While still rife with the gang-banging culture, the 562 is loaded with artists who bring an alternative, humanizing view of their world. If you’re a fan of the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Vince Staples (and of course you do, that’s likely why you’re here), then I feel that you’ll definitely enjoy the sounds of Boogie. The young emcee released his debut project, Thirst 48, back in June, and it has garnered positive reviews from a variety of publications. But it was his recent stop by Sway In The Morning that formally… uh… swayed (no pun intended) me.
