So, FOX News Thinks JAY Z Is Simply “A Crack Dealer”

blame it on Meka December 18, 2014

Two of my favorite programs are Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, primarily for the fact they (rightfully) call out then hilariously take down their “fellow pundits” such as FOX News. Last night they pulled rank on the Rupert Murdoch-owned network when talking head – and resident Bosley Hair Transplant spokesperson – Sean Hannity had the unmitigated gall to “call out” New York Governor Andrew Cuomo for meeting with one Shawn Carter to discuss the failed criminal justice system of the city, claiming that JAY is ” simply a former crack dealer.”

I would be surprised, but as we al know that isn’t the first time FOX News has demeaned urban entertainment. Hell, it’s almost Bill O’Reilly’s mantra to do so.

So, naturally, Jon Stewart – with a little help from Jessica Williams – proceeded to shred Fox News to pieces for their faux-lambasting of the entire situation. Watch what happens, then shake you head at the whole scenario, above.

  • who needs facts?

you people are ignorant as hell

    • who needs facts?

people who get their “news” from jon stewart…and we wonder why america has such an uninformed electorate. wow. i didnt realize people even watched that shitty show anymore

      • ForeverWePush

Cool if you don’t like John stewart but fuck out of here attributing the “uniformed electorate” to a satirical news show. White knuckle grasping.

      • corpzeternal

I say the same shit about people that get their “news” from Fox News but apparently people watch that bullshit. Jon Stewart is way more reliable than that BS “news” channel.

        • who needs facts?

          false

      • NYCityKid

He made fun of a real situation that everyone knows about and some how people are ignorant for having the same views on the subject matter. I think you’re an idiot

      • thatdude

you are a fucking idiot. just because news is satirical does not mean its fake. Jon Stewart reports the news more truthfully than Fox or CNN. get out from under your rock you stupid fuck

        • who needs facts?

read what you just wrote and see if you can take it seriously.

      • ayeyo

This nigga lame as fuck. Up-voting your own shitty comments. SMH!

        • NYCityKid

          Lol

      • leutrim

Jon Stewart doesn’t broadcast news, he offers us smart satire that critiques the egregious shortcomings of actual news companies. And he does it very well. So well that he’s opened the eyes of millions to the agendas and misinformation presented by the likes of FOX. So you can take your snooty comment and fuck off.

  • ChrisRoman

That’s like saying Bill Gates–though one of the wealthiest men on the planet–is a bed wetter because he wet the bed 37 years ago. Hannity…gtfo

    • biff tannen

Stupidest comment I’ve read in a while.

      • Snoop Dogg

        lmao you cold

    • Sabs 2.0

Could’ve just said he’s a drop out and left it there

    • MoyoHambo

Now, we’re going to talk about cracking down on illegal drugs with a cocaine addict (shows pic of Naomi Campbell)

  • NYCityKid

Shit is ridiculous. Hov just goin shit on them niggas on his next album and keep on not giving 2 fucks.

  • IBM

Jay was a “great guy” and “role model” to them when he made that deal with Barney’s. Now that he provided NBA players with “I Can’t Breathe” shirts, he’s just a “crack dealer.”

    • Dat nigga

      You looking too deep.

      • IBM

        Deep?

        • Dat nigga

No one cares about jayz making 30cent tshirts that’s forgotten the nxt day.

          • IBM

Umm… Not sure where you’re are, but just yesterday on my way home from work I seen thousands of people wearing them with signs Downtown. I see the same in other cities all over the country online. Yeah, and I see a lot of people calling THOSE people horrible names. Some of the people are affiliated with Fox News. Yeah, millions of people care and it damn sure ain’t forgotten. But there are plenty of people who wish it would be forgotten — those people are the problem.

          • Dat nigga

Yeah they care, but no one cares bruh.

          • Dat nigga

Glad you didn’t just leave that cliffhanger. I’m like, what happened on his way home from work? Lmao

          • NYCityKid

I wouldn’t doubt that shit played an affect on them running that segment along with all the other racist reasons.

  • Dat nigga

Meka, pull the cock out your mouth. stop hugging his nuts in hopes he sees it and puts you on his nxt album lol

    • NYCityKid

      Lol, troll alert

      • Dat nigga

        Lol

  • ForeverWePush

Faux news is a cesspool of misinformation and they don’t care about social injustice. This is par for the course for them.

    • who needs facts?

its the only outlet that covers stories the zombie MSM wont touch.

      • ForeverWePush

This is a non-story though, hence the john stewart segment

      • ayeyo

How did a Faux news viewer end up on a Hip-Hop site?

  • Mooky N

That seemed pretty fair fox news standards

  • who needs facts?

so you are all saying he DIDnt sell crack orrr???? ignorant people

    • ForeverWePush

He sold Crack decades ago, so that means he has no authority on issues of law and order and the justice system? It’s silly to label him a “Crack dealer” in 2014. This isn’t the middle ages we don’t brand people on their foreheads stripping them of their credibility for life.

      • biff tannen

        …..ummmmm…..that’s exactly what society does….

        Js

        • ForeverWePush

Yes in practice society does but in theory, in an idyllic world they wouldn’t. The probverbial “branding” of a person due to their past transgressions isn’t a mentality that is shared by all. That is the point of this segment to call out an outlet (and individual) who decided to do so.

  • xastey

    O you Sly Fox

    • Dat nigga

Lol underrated comment. Finna listen to nas now.

  • Bashir Retro Bazemore

Oookkk… So I do what not see a problem with what was said. So could someone explain this to me in a respectful teacher/student way. First off other than going at other rappers or reminding us who are not jay z how broke we are his raps are filled with drug talk. The key words for me are was and used to speaking in the past tense meaning something he used to do. Second, I kinda KINDA agree with the man. You go nd talk about police and the way criminals are looked at to a former crack dealer who made a large part of his millions talking about selling crack stabbing UN and shooting at people. I know meka and others that feel the same way wanna try and protect jayz because all that’s going on in the media and just the simple fact that fox news had gall to say it. I mean if this was a person who made his millions rapping about something other than drug dealing I would agree but its not like he’s mlk Malcolm X mandala or whatever black nationalist who made a change and made millions by preaching something positive its f-ing jayz…

    • NYCityKid

Don’t hate on Hov bro. Like Hov ain’t do a lot of positive shit than the negative agenda Fox News tried to force feed us. It’s nothing worst than when your girl or anyone for that matter brings up some old shit u did and talks about it like it happened yesterday and it’s the same person you are now. That’s some destructive shit.

      • Dat nigga

Nah I agree with homeboy. And jayz my dude. But nah. if jay can have a billion dollars and still rap about coke, and profit, then fox news throwing shots just come with the territory. This generation of being overly defensive and sensitive and gay needs to have some chill and pause button. For real.

        • NYCityKid

Rap about coke and profit. Lol. I can dig what u sayin. But u kno they be hatin on black people and they be on that degradation shit. But I feel u if Hov didn’t do it to himself they wouldn’t have any ammo. Still I’m a Hov fanatic so am ah always feel some type of way. I can’t help it.

          • Dat nigga

I mean where jay shoots himself in the foot is when he doesn’t defend himself. Instead he does that “strategic” bullshit and just doesn’t respond. Unless he’s selling an album.

          • NYCityKid

Lol that’s My Nigga. Bosses don’t speak. Made men ain’t supposed to make statements. Who knows maybe we’ll get an open letter 2. Jay is an opportunist

          • Dat nigga

Nah cuz at some point you just look stupid and weak. Bcuz at the same time, Fox News isn’t wrong. And jay doesn’t have any excuse to still be rapping about coke. He “hopped off the boat” remember? BFFs wit Chris Martin and em. Couldn’t even go to Ye’s wedding smh.

P.s. Kanye put on for niggaz more than jay.

          • NYCityKid

If it wasn’t for Hov I don’t know if there would have been Ye. I love Ye but they all sell out in their own way. Ain’t nothing weak about Hov. It’s just his way. Ye comes off over emotional and erratic in interviews as if he’s driven by emotions (which he his) Hov is the ultimate business man who decides not to get sucked in to that emotional shit. And a lot of people ate and are eating because of his talents at not just only rapping but being a Boss. But back to the original topic it’s fucked up how Fox News would love to discredit his business catalogue by throwing shade

          • Dat nigga

Nah jay is weak by not defending himself. Same principle for all “bosses.” Boss shit is puff smacking up drake for taking his beat like it’s still 1998. Jay would had just said nothing then go to the label heads and beg them to blackball lil wheelchair jimmy.

And if not for dame finding kanye, there definitly wouldn’t be a jay. Jay whole career post american gangster has been ye.

And bout the original post, jay was being jay and fox news was being Fox News.

          • NYCityKid

            Word, to the original post.

          • Youcan’tbeserious

Lmfao @ “Made men ain’t supposed to make statements” and “Bosses don’t speak” – Muthafucka do you realize that you uploaded a picture onto a website and are commenting on a hiphop website forum in the middle of the afternoon? Time for a reality check. And “Dat Nigga” feels some sort of way because one man didn’t go to another man’s wedding? What?!?! Are you guys listening to yourselves? GTFO

          • Dat nigga

If you make a song called big brother, and the nigga dont go to yo obviously big wedding, that nigga ain’t shit lol even coworkers and bosses attend weddings. Nigga even bad at trolling.

And you realize you just sat and read my whole conversation, then wrote ^ that. Nigga go sit yo ass in the corner.

          • Youcan’tbeserious

*sheds a tear because Jay didn’t go to Kimye’s wedding*

          • Dat nigga

            Lol oh

          • NYCityKid

What me watching a hiphop site an commenting on a post has to do wit me needing a reality check? My life is fucking awesome and I’m glad I get to do what I do. Nobody gives a fuck about Hov not going to Ye’s wedding that was wack and corny but niggas ain’t lose sleep off of that. You’se a fuck nigga

        • biff tannen

          Preach

          • NYCityKid

Awww here u go. Sit yo ass down somewhere

          • biff tannen

“This generation of being overly defensive and sensitive and gay needs to have some chill and pause button. For real.”

            I repeat, PREACH.

          • NYCityKid

Lmao yup, facts. U know Hov don’t take none of that shit serious. I fully agree with that.

      • Bashir Retro Bazemore

not hating at all bruh but maybe I’m digging to deep but, peep granted hov “stopped” selling drugs years ago however the news anchor to me was not wrong and poses a great debate. He did use jayz drug dealing in a past tense and not sayin that he does it now. Also granted all the “good” he does but be real he got his millions by rapping about drug dealing and 20 something years later he still raps about the same. Throw in some money and I’m the greatest rhymes and you got a hov verse. Plus his background is not a good thing for him nor anyone questioning him about thoughts on improving the criminal justice system in ny

        • NYCityKid

Hov made his money a bunch of ways. However he did it. Is his business. Maybe he might be a good person to talk to cause he cares and may relate to what happens to young people from the hood where he came from. Idk idc either way I’m glad he was asked to help and hopefully he can

    • Selorm Amuzu

The guy sold crack over 20 years and since then has created and maintain a successful business out of his story and retrospect, and bare in mind his business sense and discipline did come from his bullshit, he is an American success story and at least we all know his story, look behind a Fox News reporter closet or any hypocritical conservative and tell me their shit is clean. Fact is Fox News calling Jay a crack dealer in 2014 is saying a dog can bark, who truly gives a shit and who cares. Also my dude, The man has had a hand in making a change for black ppl whether you agree or not even the “positive black nationalist” would tell you the same and also @DatNigga can’t talk shit when his favourite rapper is “French Montana”. please remind me what French’s subject matter is ????

      • Dat nigga

“Montana ima block nigga. You heard they shot ME and I shot niggaz!!” Lol damn right montana my boy. I’m not saying jay is wrong. I’m not saying Fox News is wrong. I’m saying until one of them change, this “who’s good who’s bad” back n forth isn’t going anywhere. Points can be made from both view points.

Jayz at this point could have easily made a album like the nigga album. But instead, the subject matter is more along the lines of my boy french. Which I love lol. But with that comes the understanding that you’re the “bad guy.” That’s why it’s called Bad Boy. Lol.

        I’m just anti-hypocrisy.

        • Selorm Amuzu

Yhh but the only hypocrite here is Fox. Jay has been himself for the longest, he says he’s a hustler, he even says than he could have rapped like Common but he saw that million and never rapped like Common again. Dude’s a self aware person so he ain’t gonna move on anyone’s time and why should he change further especially for a company like Fox who would continue to talk shit about his part like done dirt yesterday?

          • Dat nigga

He spitting the same shit on his last album.

      • Bashir Retro Bazemore

I agree with everything you just said bro but in all that you don’t see the irony in asking a 20 year ago drug dealer whom still talks about selling drugs and shooting people 20 years later what he thinks about criminal justice system in nyc?? Granted he’s got all the businesses and show people progress however he’s doing it by rapping about things he did 20 years ago. Majority of us don’t look nor read to much into things so when you hear a jayz song please point out the progress uplifting for our youth. All they hear is selling drugs gets you millions and the baddest chick on the block

    • ForeverWePush

Jay z is an entertainer. Let’s not conflate selling crack with talking about your experiences selling crack. He is a go-between, a person in power using his influence to voice the collective frustrations of a massive community he belongs to. He is attempting to be a part of effective solutions that take steps to mend our broken unequal criminal justice system. How does attacking him personally help to fix the problem? That’s right, it doesn’t, Hannity doesn’t have a single fuck to give about fixing the criminal justice system. That is why John stewart is targeting him and it is well deserved. Sean Hannity has the right to say whatever bird brain thing he choose to and we have the right(and responsibility) to make him feel silly for it.

  • JME

Easy to throw shade and say it’s ironic or whatever but who better than someone who’s been on both sides of the fence… no ones saying hes the most suited choice, but it’s a start.

The people behind the media want as little change as possible because the current system best serves their interests on a whole deeper level, no wonder they are putting so much effort into publicly attacking Jay.

    • Bashir Retro Bazemore

Great.. You help me open my mind even more and I totally understand the displeasure with this news clip in the first place. Even though I’m still sticking with my opinion you help me understand from the opposite stand point on this debate.. Good looking out to every single person on this post. This will make for a great debate for my class come next semester.. Thanks people..

  • F.A.R.

“I might buy a Kilo from Cheef Keef. Out of spite I jus might flood these streets.” – Jay-Z. Low key I don’t think he was lying about that haha.

  • TruthMachine3

Why are you embedding a shitty YouTube rip of a Daily Show video, where the jokes in the captions are CROPPED OUT, and that only consists of HALF THE SEGMENT, and that is just going to get taken down from YouTube in a few days, when you could easily embed the HIGH QUALITY, FULL VERSION of the video, without any weird cropping from The Daily Show website?

Fox News is TMZ for republicans”
