blame it on JES7 February 24, 2015

In this powerful, but short new documentary, director Punit Dhesi delves into Fashawn’s past, including his upbringing in Fresno, California. Throughout the 16-minute documentary, Fashawn interviews his Mother – who has battled drug addiction, who tells him why she chose to bless him with the name Fashawn, her struggle with drugs and her past.

The documentary also captures how a young Fashawn and his endless bars captivated people around him, including his manager Aren, his cousin, Evidence and more.

Overall, the documentary explores how Fash overcame economic hardships, navigates the streets and pushed through the struggles to get where he’s at now, ultimately wrapped up in his new album, The Ecology.
