When I first heard Jay Rock’s “Pay For It” featuring K. Dot, I as well as countless others thought that it was the new single from his highly-anticipated-but-oft-delayed follow-up to his 2011 debut album Follow Me Home. Today, Beats has provided a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the song, with Jay, Kendrick and the song’s producer Sounwave speaking on everything that went into the song from past hardships to Serena Williams.
Let’s hope we get a Jay Rock album this year, yes? Meanwhile, you can pre-order Kendrick’s upcoming album, To Pimp A Butterfly, now.
