DJ Jazzy Jeff‘s wild ride continues as the turntable specialist recently kicked off the third season of his Vinyl Destination series.
Ep.1: “Backstage Access”
DJ Jazzy Jeff and the crew do a coast to coast run, starting with at trip to the Big Apple for Super Bowl XLVIII. But they are ready for more than some football. Dust off your gold rope chain and Adidas shell tops because Jeff joins The Roots in a tribute to New York City hip-hop. Before the show, some of the guys struggle to keep calm in the midst of hip-hop royalty. But the scene of legends backstage is nothing compared to the magic that happens on stage. This once-in-a-lifetime event features Busta Rhymes, Slick Rick, Naughty By Nature and a rare reunion of an iconic group. The momentum continues in LA with a performance at DJ City in front of a record breaking audience. But it doesn’t end there. Ep.2: “A Good Day For DJ’ING”
Some of the crew find themselves breathless after a first time encounter with Los Angeles’s Runyon Canyon. Meanwhile, a well rested DJ Jazzy Jeff prepares for Guitar Center’s Rock Walk event honoring some of the pioneers of DJing; Grand Master Flash, Grand Wizard Theodore, Grand Mixer DXT . Guests at the auspicious event included Herbie Hancock, Biz Markie, Z-Trip and DJ Q-Bert just to name a few.
