It’s been a long time coming for Don Logan. A longtime member of Rick Ross‘ MMG camp he – alongside Ross, Torch and Young Breed, together as the Triple C’s – released one lone album, Custom Cars & Cycles, in 2009, and has had to patiently wait on the sidelines as Rick expanded the regime to include Meek Mill, Omarion, Stalley, Rockie Fresh and Wale. Undeterred, Gunplay has contributed to works by both his extended family and other stars, most notably MMG’s “Power Circle” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Cartoon & Cereal.”
Now signed to Def Jam as a solo artist, Gunplay is set to release his major label debut Living Legend on July 31st. After setting things off with his DJ Mustard-produced “WuzHaninDoe,” he now teams with another rough-and-ready emcee in Styles P on perhaps the nicest-sounding death threats to arrive this week, with Tyler Woods providing the hook.
