While he’s continued to battle against his now-shattered alliance with Cash Money Records, Lil Wayne has embarked on a Release Partiez Tour in support of his latest mixtape Sorry 4 The Wait 2. Since announcing its follow-up project, the Free Weezy Album, he’s subsequently gone on a lyrically rejuvenated tear with recent works with Freekey Zekey, Turk and Bankroll Fresh, as well as signing a TIDAL deal with JAY Z.

Last night (June 17th), while on a tour stop in Washington, DC, he announced his latest venture: the release of his Free Weezy Album.

Wayne plans to drop the project on July 4th, which is a double-entendre as that is also Independence Day. With its well-received first single “Glory” sparking talks of a possible return to form for Tha Carter, fans are expecting more of the same from Wayne. We will all find out in a few weeks.
