Lil Wayne, who just announce his Lil Weezyana Festival taking place in New Orleans on August 28 yesterday, took the radio waves to talk with Wild Wayne, the host of a morning show in on Q93 in New Orleans.

Throughout the 30-minute interview, Lil Wayne confirmed there will be a Hot Boys reunion (sans B.G., of course) at the event, but didn’t get into any details due to contractual disagreements with Cash Money. Wayne also discussed his early years at Cash Money, signing Drake, his first impression of Nicki Minaj, Young Thug and Barter 6 (and how it compares to him naming an album 500 Degreez after Juvenile’s initial departure), and getting advice from one of his idols, JAY Z.

Wayne said Nicki Minaj was “impossible to pass up” when he first saw her and said he needed to be sold on Drake before signing him to Young Money. Regarding Drake, he said, “I had never heard rap be honest like that,” saying that before him, it was all about “popping bottles,” “wearing eye patches” and not being as emotional and upfront as Drake is.
