Mnhattn is an upstart rapper and visual artist coming out of New York City’s upper west side trying to make a name for himself. For his first single, “Wave Church,” he enlists the aid of TDE’s SZA. Over heavy rock-tinged production from Braden Blair, Mnhattn pours out his life story with an aggressive delivery. SZA meanwhile closes out the track with a smooth flourish. Be on the lookout for the New Yorker’s debut EP, Wave God, set to drop August 11. It’s a concept project inspired sonically by LL Cool J, Prince, and the Beach Boys, which is certainly an eclectic mix of influences.
