The last time I got really gassed for a Puff Daddy-Neptunes/Pharrell collaboration, the Harlem Shake was still a fashion accessory. So after seeing he and his Family reunite during the 2015 BET Awards (and he take a seriously funny tumble on stage), Thor and company reveal the Hype Williams-directed visual treatment for his new single “Finna Get Loose,” produced by Pharrell.
Backed by a sample of some of the most famous drums in hip hop, the video is a black-and-white time machine loaded with breaking, frenetic two-stepping and – yes – Harlem Shaking. Clearly this song is meant to inspire You Got Served-style dance-offs at the local party, and I’m totally here for all of that.
