New Mello Music Group signees Semi Hendrix drop their new single, “#4081,” after premiering it on Sway in the Morning Thursday.
If you’re familiar with the “industry rule #4080: record company people are shady” given by A Tribe Called Quest, you’ll see that the group – which we’re assuming includes Ras Kass – is giving us the rule’s follow-up, number 4,081. They’re following the same themes of the rule’s predecessor, pushing that you need to “get your mind right, shine right, shine like the sun.” They’re saying, essentially, don’t let anyone control you. Fuck people who try to. Right? RIGHT?????? FUCK THE POWER. FUCK YOUR BOSS. YOU SEE THIS, SHAKE????? I’LL FORMAT THIS POST HOW I WANT.
