I don’t really know what to say about Comedy Central’s Key & Peele. While it’s been on for three years (and five seasons), I’ve always been on the fence about the show; for every chuckle-inducing sketch I’ve seen, there’s been about 14 others I’ve rolled my eyes at or changed the channel on. However, the duo have won a Peabody Award in 2013, appeared in successful television shows and films, and – in the case of Keegan-Michael Key – joked alongside President Barack Obama at the recent White House Correspondents’ Dinner, so they’re obviously doing something right… right?
Anyways, in a recent episode the two cracked on OutKast; namely, the difficulties of being a Big Boi in an André 3000 world, and while I didn’t guffaw outwardly at the sketch… the end. The nearly four-minute skit had Big Boi (Peele) at a Starbucks enjoying a drink and a muffin before a Peter Pan-resembling 3 Stacks (Key) prances in talking all kinds of wild random rhetoric about screeching metal, incense, fruits and berries and other such nonsense.
I mean…
