Rick Ross has to be in a great mood right now. Not only did he release a well-received project, Black Dollar, he recently got engaged to urban model Lira Galore. Perhaps that’s why he’s, at the moment, returned back to rapping over soul samples lately, like the one found in his latest offering “Babies Cry.”
After subtly paying respect to his new loved one (“I was blessed with a wonderful sister,” and “Lira say we’re living like the movie Blow“), Ross flexes some rather introspective vocal chops while weaving throughout the guitar licks of producer Ben Billions’ backdrop. Perhaps inspired by a newfound outlook on life, especially after dealing with a rather tumultuous summer (there’s also a mention of that as well), Ricky perhaps seems more inclined to test out new/old waters along the lines of “Cigar Music” more than ever?
