A new Adult Swim single has Flying Lotus combined with Shabazz Palaces and Thundercat together as WOKE for a new single, “The Lavishments Of Light Looking,” featuring George Clinton.
The song contains a verse from Ishmael Butler, the rapping half of Shabazz Palaces, as Flying Lotus lays his fluttering, groovy production joined with an always-killer bass line from Thundercat. George Clinton joins the last half of the song as the production changes to the feel of a spooky jungle excursion. There’s so much going on here, but I know I’ll love it once I fully grasp it all.
