Amerigo Gazaway’s career has thrived on mash-ups. From Yasiin Gaye (Yasiin Bay/Mos Def and Marvin Gaye) to Bizzare Pharcyde (A Tribe Called Quest and The Pharcyde), Gazaway has perfected combining two relatively different sounds into one in a ridiculously entertaining way. Every song sounds like a brand new one.

His most recent project, The Trill Is Gone, combines the sounds of the late legendary guitarist B.B. King and UGK. Using songs like Bun B and Pimp C’s “Int’l Player’s Anthem” and Cam’ron’s “What The World Means to A Pimp (Remix)” and B.B. King’s “The Thrill Is Gone” and “There Must Be A Better World Somewhere,” this is so damn fun. He matches the moods, and sometimes enhances them, so well.

Rest in peace B.B. and Pimp C. May your sounds live individually, and mashed up, forever. Head to Bandcamp to download the project for free.
