Since the very first day the DopeHouse was built, we’ve been praising Chino XL‘s talents as a lyricist. The man’s ability with a pen and a pad is just unreal. And with his latest release, he’s proven it once again.

Over the years, drug addiction has taken the lives of far too many. Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Winehouse, Heath Ledger, Nina Simone, Jimi Hendrix, the list goes on of talented people who’ve lost their lives to heroin, cocaine, and whatever other drugs they decide to plague their body with.

In an effort to raise awareness of the pain addiction can cause (on yourself and others), Chino XL delivers a set of masterful verses on “HUSH” – a thought-provoking record, produced by TIDAL Rising Artist Jonathan Hay and Ajami, that will live on The Urban Hitchcock LP, arriving later this year as a TIDAL exclusive.

“I never heard a song like this before about heroin. It blows my mind. I think ‘Hush’ shows why Chino XL is widely considered one of the greatest lyricists of all-time. ‘Hush’ is a completely different vibe for Chino XL, but he is a true master at words and knocks it out of the park. This song is one of my most proudest moments. It’s awesome that Chino XL is part of our Urban Hitchcock squad.” – J. Hay
