Gallant – “Weight In Gold” (Video)

blame it on Patrick Glynn October 21, 2015

Gallant‘s “Weight In Gold” is one of those emotional, explosive songs that you can never play at less than three-fourths volume while trying your best to singer over the sounds. The song dropped a little over three months ago, and we’ve gotten plenty of remixes since its drops (including an amazing one from Ta-ku).

“Weight In Gold” finally gets the visual treatment, and it visualizes exactly what I believe the the electromagnetic waves in my brain look like when they’re firing off while I’m listening to this song. As the song builds, so does the light show and tension while the ATL crooner flails in the rain singing his tune. It’s almost like a visualization of when someone’s singing this joint at the top of their lungs in the shower, only far more real and full of emotion.

Gallant told The FADER, who premiered the visual:

“Since ‘Weight In Gold’ is really just an unfiltered list of all the thoughts that pop in and out of my head, it felt right to visually pair it with something just as disorderly, abstract, and human.”
