With the 25th anniversary of A Tribe Called Quest’s People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm a couple months behind us, the celebration is not. After getting a rework of “Bonita Applebum” from Pharrell a couple weeks ago, we get CeeLo Green‘s addition to the re-release of ATCQ’s album, a full, enchanting remix of “Footprints.”

CeeLo doesn’t appear in the remix until the last minute-and-a-half of the song, but goddamn it’s nice to hear some CeeLo Green bars again. Delivering a quick verse of recollection and inspiration, the Goodie Mob member told The FADER, who premiered the song, how important A Tribe Called Quest was to him and the Dungeon Family:

“How was it possible to be so varied, strange, unique, interesting and dope? Then “Can I Kick It” and “Bonita Applebum” guaranteed that a brave new world was upon us. I am me, by way of many things, and one them is A Tribe Called Quest.”

Listen to the remix below, and pre-order the re-release of People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm on iTunes. Following Pharrell’s and CeeLo’s contributions will be J. Cole’s remix of “Can I Kick It?” Stay tuned.
