Remember Dayne Jordan? The man who brought DJ Jazzy Jeff back into the hip-hop world this summer? The man who made the tell-all “In Progress,” which remains one of my favorite underground cuts of the year? Well, he’s revisited his Memoirs of Dayne Jordan LP (completely produced by Jazzy Jeff) released back in July with a video for “The Hustlers,” and I’m begging you, listen to this man.
The song follows Dayne recollecting on his childhood, remembering that he was supposed to “die before 21,” but now that he’s a rapper — a good one, at that — he can tour the nation and far more comfortably than he used to. He can visit San Diego, he can make an album with DJ Jazzy Jeff, he can dream, which he does in his new visual.
