Pusha T is no stronger to mashing with EDM artists (case-and-point: “Burial,” “Warriors“), and he does it once again with Swedish duo Axwell Λ Ingrosso for “This Time.”

The former Swedish House Mafia members, (whose 2010 song, “One (Your Name)” with Pharrell, is still legendary in the EDM circles) use their “Al Naafiysh (The Soul)” (also known as, the b-boy friendly “It’s Time”) inflected sonics to build into a trance-heavy kaleidoscope of electronic explosions and robotic sound effects, before slowing down a bit to allow Ziplock P to skate throughout his verse leading into the song once again returning to it’s house-heavy roots. It’s essentially similar to when producers turn rap songs into one of those hip-house tracks that sometimes confuses me at a club. I mean, I don’t expecting a coke rap classic like “Grindin'” to turn into a twerk-happy frenzy, but it happens and I don’t know what to make of it.
