Call this “brandUn DeShay B-Sides.”

The eclectic producer-on-the-microphone is gearing up his long-in-the-works new project, goldUn Child, to formally and finally be revealed on November 19th. As he was working on the album for nearly five years, brandUn has a host of beats, instrumentals, reference tracks and other such songs that have ultimately not made the final cut. So as he continues to prepare for the release of goldUn Child, he has teamed with the DopeHouse to release a series of songs that will not be on the album.

Following the sing-songy and upbeat “It’s goldUn” brandUn debuts the emotionally driven “The Break Up/Break Down.” Utilizing a sample from Frank Ocean’s “Thinkin’ Bout You,” the song is inspired the relationships brandUn has had that ultimately ceased to exist. However, a break-up doesn’t have to end with a break down. Listen to “The Break Up/Break Down” below, and stay tuned to the DopeHouse for more offerings from brandUn.
