The latest entry of the Rocky film series, ironically, doesn’t star Rocky Balboa at all; it is actually Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis. Portrayed by Michael B. Jordan, CREED is slated to arrive on Thanksgiving 2015 — the fortieth anniversary of the date of the opening scene in the original Rocky.

As is customary with the film, there will be an accompanying soundtrack. However, unlike the films that bred classics like “Gonna Fly Now,” “Going The Distance” and “Eye Of The Tiger,” instead there will be songs that are more in tune with today’s youth culture. And who, of course, would be the definition of “in tune with today’s youth culture” than Future?

With frequent collaborator Metro Boomin [SHAKE EDIT: And Ludwig Goransson], who coincidentally flips “Gonna Fly Now,” the motivational theme song for gym rats everywhere gets taken to the club with sirens and enough bass to blow out that chintzy sound system in the YMCA. Bill Conti, Mickey Goldmill and Apollo Creed probably didn’t have this in mind when the original debuted, but then again they probably weren’t expecting a club banger like “Puff Daddy’s “Victory” to come from it also.
